Five years from now we will begin building our dream home.
I've mentioned before that Tyson and I enjoy sketching house plans and imagining this n' that for our future home. If we're not careful we could spend hours driving around just looking at houses. Neither one of us had to convince the other of the fun of it when we got married, we've both just always been interested in that sort of thing. (In fact, while hanging out together when we were in high school I drove him by my (then considered) dream home. He still remembered it 5 years later when we got engaged. Ahhhh, cute =0) What's better- -no need for compromise because we're always drawn to the same houses and we agree on what we like and what we'd alter.
The question has been where to build. A common discussion when we visit home is our eventual "settled down" location. We want our children to grow up in the country and we want to be nearby family, but we also want to have our own lives apart from everyone else. After much consideration we've decided where we want to be and it's really exciting! But I've yet to decide whether to disclose that decision or not. Wouldn't want anyone to get there before we do =0)
Having decided where we want to be, we were naturally curious about house plans so we decided to look around. You know, just for fun. Because we can! So for the past few days we've been looking online and alas, we found our dream home! We browsed and studied and considered and imagined and nothing really felt like it could be home for us, but then we found the one. Wanna see?
This house is so us and both of us instantly fell in love with it. With only a few minor alterations it will be our ultimate dream home. My oh my, the excitement!
You know that feeling of just knowing you've made a good choice? Just knowing something is right? That's the feeling in my heart.
So on our fridge hangs that picture as a reminder of what we're working for. What we're saving for. Five years from now, you mark my word. I will be living there.

Beautiful! We love house plans too. I have a couple books of them on my cookbook shelf, actually.... someday I hope we can build!
ReplyDeleteI'm really curious now where you've chosen to build. Guess I'll have to wait five years though. :)
I also love looking at houses, house plans, etc. The whole works! Its so fun and intriguing to me.
