Epiphany

I realized something the other day.

In my writing (and also in my thinking and talking), I describe things differently than others.  Not necessarily with the particular words I choose, but in the method with which I write (and think and talk).

Take the post below for example.  I wrote, "Up until now we've just been using the apartment-provided shower liner".  The apartment-provided shower liner.  It seems to me that any normal person would perhaps have written something more like, "Up until now we've just been using the shower liner provided by the apartment", or something along those lines.  No?

This is my Korean coming out in my English.  Koreans are all about description, and they create their descriptions into adjectives, rather than explanations.  Follow?  

"Apartment-provided" = descriptive adjective

"Provided by the apartment" = descriptive explanation

I think too much.

But I'm happy to know I still have Korean lingering in my brain somewhere.

And now you understand my seemingly-ungrammatical writing.

There I go again.
