The Hair

My city league volleyball team scrimmaged the high school girls this afternoon I just got home from a run with a friend. Look at me- -making time to exercise AND blog!  I'm writing that down because it's a rarity!  Ha.

Just wanted to post real quick about my hair cut!  The last time I got it cut was the day before my mission almost 7 years ago.  I cut off about 12 inches and donated it to Locks Of Love.  I'd had it long since then and loved it until my hair lost it's body during my pregnancy with Ryder about 2 years ago.  It stopped holding curl and I felt like my hair was just dragging me down.  At that point I mentioned cutting it every now and again but Tyson wanted me to keep it long.  Then, for some reason, in the last 6 months or so he told me "You'll look younger if you cut your hair."  He was right, and I was excited to hear he was finally toying with the idea.  I told him, "One day you're going to come home from work and it's just going to be gone!"  That didn't end up being the case because I talked with my sister-in-law Camille who lives out in Ogden and she recommended a stylist named Kelsey who works at Nicholls & Co., which is owned by a family I know and trust, so I had to make a special trip to get it done and couldn't surprise him.  I didn't tell him what my hair plans were though.  We made the trip but until he picked me up at the salon he had no idea what he was in for.

Kelsey cut about 12 inches and it became another donation.  I asked for a soft, mid-length A-line and she did such a great job!  She also weaved some highlights into it which I LOVE!   It was the first time I've left a hair appointment without having to go home and fix it myself.  (I've only had my hair done twice in my life, by the way.  Both were bad experiences so I've always cut it myself.)  Kelsey is amazing and I am going back in a couple of weeks to have her do it again! I might even change it up a bit =0)

Even though Tyson was on board for the whole thing, he was a little apprehensive.  The night before I got it cut, during our family prayers he asked, "Please bless Dani to change her mind."  Ha ha.  All of his fears were washed away the minute he saw me though.  He really did fall in love with me all over again.  I joke that he has been happier since that day, but I recently realized that it wasn't him.  It was me.  I feel like a new woman and I'm so much happier and I treat him better because of it, which makes it easy for him to love me more.  I feel like we're more giddy than we were when we were first married!  We can't get enough of each other and life has never been better.

Thank you Kelsey =0)

  1. It looks absolutely darling! I love a good hair cut. I've been all over the length board since we got married. Cade won't ever tell me which way he likes it, so we switch it up every so often. Glad you found something you love!
