So I Can Remember

Dear Teryn,
Today was not much different than any other day but there were a few happenings that I want to remember. Last night was the first night we've spent at our new house. You stayed in your bedroom like a big boy, even though we still haven't rehung your door. This morning I dug through a box full of food and pulled out a new box of "Oh's" cold cereal. You have never eaten a bite of cold cereal until this morning. You climbed up on the bar next to your dad and stuck your hand down into the box. It was love at first bite :) Finally! You grabbed a spoon and continued to dig into the box, eating the dry cereal. You came back a few times throughout the day for a snack of cereal. I don't know exactly why but it made me smile.  Probably because you're finally converted to something I've been offering for so long.  The other moment I want to remember was nap time.  I haven't been feeling well today so when I could hear you weren't settling in your room I just brought you to lay with me so I wouldn't have to chase up and down the stairs to help you.  Within two minutes of laying on your daddy's pillow you were out. Soon thereafter I fell asleep as well but after a time, you woke prematurely and you were whiny.  I shhhed you because I didn't want you to wake Ryder and you quieted your cry but you didn't stop. I rolled over so I could face you, grabbed your little hand, and ran my thumb along your fist. You quickly calmed down and fell back asleep, holding tight to my finger.  It was a tender time for me.  You're quite the stubborn little boy and we have few cuddly moments.

The funny part while we napped was watching you jolt awake (while still sleeping?) like your dad does.  If a dream or an external noise startles your dad, he abruptly lifts his head, sleepy eyes wide open, looks over at me, and then lays back fast asleep without a word.  You did that a few times today, ha ha.  You looked just like your father!

I loved napping with you today. I think we will do it more often.  Love you son =0)
