Those Asians

Asian people are among the most wise and intelligent people I've ever met.  I consider myself a believer in their theories, philosophies, procedures, and ideas.  You know, like all that Chinese Zodiac stuff?  I'm a Tiger, Tyson is a Tiger, and Teryn is a Tiger.  That explains a lot about our family dynamics.  Or how about Chinese Acupuncture?  Ask me sometime about the experience I had with with it on my mission.  It will make you a believer too.

I once saw this Chinese Gender Predictor chart on a blog I follow.

Well, Teryn was conceived in June of 2009, making me 23 years old.  According to this chart he should have been a girl!  Not accurate, right?

Wrong!

My sister-in-law and I were talking about this predictor and she reminded me that Chinese people (well, Asians in general) calculate their ages differently.  They go off the LUNAR year.  DUH!! I KNEW THAT!!!   According to the Lunar year, I was 24 when Teryn was conceived, so it's perfectly accurate!

In that case, Baby #2 was conceived in May of this year, making me 26 years old.  Looks like a little girl is on her way!  After all, those Asians are genius =0) I guess we'll see just how genius on October 14th.....

She'll be born in the year 2012, making her a Dragon.  Another strong head to add to the mix, but at least Tigers and Dragons get along!  Maybe someday we'll get a more submissive little one to soften our household.

Are there any other Chinese Zodiac believers out there?  How about the gender chart?  Was/is it accurate for you?

(Click here for a chart that goes to age 45.)
