Oh boy, do I have a treat for you! It's my new favorite and I'll bet it'll be yours too. Try it and prove me wrong =0)
Super quick, easy, and YUMMY! I'm not a butterscotch lover, but I LOVE these! Just look at them!!
Ingredients:
1 Cup Corn Syrup
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Peanut Butter
12-14 oz. Chex Cereal
1 Cup Corn Syrup
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Peanut Butter
12-14 oz. Chex Cereal
1 Cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
1 Cup Butterscotch Chips
Combine corn syrup and sugar in pot and bring to a boil. Add peanut butter and stir just until smooth. (Don't let it boil too long or it will set up too hard.) Pour onto Chex cereal and mix. Spread mixture into sheet cake pan. Melt semi-sweet chips and drizzle over mixture. Follow with butterscotch chips. Let cool and enjoy!!!
(Note: Tyson wasn't in love with the butterscotch the first time I tried them, so this time around, as you can see from the pictures, I did one side with semi-sweet and butterscotch chips and the other side with semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips. Both are yummy!)
p.s. The butterscotch chips don't melt as smoothly as chocolate so they're harder to drizzle. Any tips? Anybody?
We used to make these growing up all the time. Although we called them scotcharoos and made them with rice krispies. Same recipe. Also, we used to melt the chips together and spread them over the top. So it was an even coating and then the butterscotch isn't as overpowering. SOOOO yummy. Love them!
