Where We're At

So!  Life has obviously kicked up a few notches since Adria arrived and I've had less than enough time to blog.  It's so sad how that happens because I have more to record than ever before.  Since I'm nearing my pre-pregnancy weight, I figure I can cut down on the exercise time and instead try to get back on track here.

I have a list of topics I'd like to write about but I feel like I need to post an update on our family before I just start jabbering.  I'll start youngest to oldest.

Adria.  Three months.  She is quite the little princess.  She cries and everyone comes running.  She coos and everyone goes ga-ga.  She smiles and everyone's hearts melt.  Everywhere we go someone comments on how pretty she is.  She is, as my mom would say, royally nurtured in every way.  She is 3 months old now but weighing in at only 9 lbs 10 oz, she could still pass as a newborn.  A tiny girl with big attitude already.  She is so much more social than my boys were.  They were perfectly content alone in their own little world but she loves to be part of the crowd.  Anyone who will sit and chat with her is her best friend.  She loves to be held and included in everything.  And she l.o.v.e.s. kisses!

Ryder, Ryder, Ryder.  Oh Ryder, ha ha!  That kid.  Eighteen months.  Where do I even start?  He is always hungry!  Seriously, it stresses me out.  He is always getting into cupboards and climbing on counters to get his hands on any food he can.  He used to eat anything but has recently become really picky which stresses me out even more.  I offer him something and he just screams and screams and screams until I offer something he wants.  I sternly tell him to stop and he pokes out his bottom lip with such a long face like he is eternally broken hearted.  He is seriously FULL OF IT!  He's learning how to stand up to his big brother.  He's even learning to pick on him, ha ha.  He loves to be tickled and he has the most contagious laugh.  Every time I ask him to "come here" he runs the other way just so I will chase him. He is completely independent and in his own world.  Tantrums, climbing, and all, this is my favorite child phase.

Teryn Gregory.  Three and a half years.  He is growing up too quick!  He is such a sweet big brother to Adria but is learning how fun it is to pick on his little brother.  For the most part they are good friends but Teryn definitely takes advantage of being faster and more agile.  His speech is still quite delayed so he started preschool at a special school called Conamore yesterday. When they tested him they were very impressed with his large vocabulary but he rarely puts words together to form sentences so he needs a little help.  He IS learning every day and it's getting a little easier but his inability to communicate is definitely the most stressful part of our lives at this point.  He has become quite a mama's boy.  When Adria and Ryder lay down for naps in the afternoons, I usually bring Teryn to lay on my bed with me and he just holds my finger and we fall asleep together.  I have a feeling deep in my heart that we are going to be best friends.

Durbin and Watson.  Just short of 6 years.  In dog years of course- -10 months in human years.  They have found every way possible to escape from our backyard so we finally got a kennel together and they've been successfully contained for the past 3 nights.  This picture is very indicative of their personalities; Watson is on the left, very low-energy and wise.  Durbin is very high-energy and energetic.  When we take them out walking/running/biking though, you'd think Watson would be the obedient one and he's not.  He's the wanderer, always looking for mischief.  Durbin is a great heeler and stays right by our side.  They are so much fun.  They have been the perfect addition to our family.

Tyson. Twenty-seven and one day.  Yep, yesterday was his birthday!  He works at Nabors these days, sacrificing everything he has to take care of our family. He works 80+ hours a week, sometimes pulling 15 hour days.  (Do you love his picture? ha!)  We're finally getting back on our feet after being unemployed students for so long and it feels nice.  I'm so grateful for a husband who works so hard!  We really miss him at home, but we know this is something we have to get through to get where we're going.  I sure love him!!

Me.  Twenty-seven and change.  That's right, I'm the eldest of the family!  Ha.  I chopped my hair and got it colored a few weeks back and I am a new woman!  Tyson was a little apprehensive about me cutting it but he has fallen in love with me all over again.  This was my second donation to Locks Of Love.  I could let it grow out and do it again but I'm loving it short so much that I'll probably keep it this way.  I'm keeping busy with the munchkins and little projects around the house.  City league softball just finished and volleyball will start up in a month.  I've recovered well from my pregnancy and I'm feeling great.  In fact, I'm happier than I've ever been.  More on that later.

So that's what's current in a nutshell!  It feels good to finally have that recorded- -now I can move on to other topics!  Our MiFi contract just ended so we are finally connected to DSL.  Hopefully that will help my picture uploading speed so I can get my blog rolling again!  See you soon =0)
