I must be a dry writer- -people are rarely compelled to comment on what I say. If anyone out there is feeling generous, throw me a bone =0) Anything. Some days this is the only social life I have!!
DAY 8: SHORT TERM GOALS FOR THIS MONTH AND WHY
1) Stick to my grocery budget. Tyson and I are pretty good at being conscious about where our money goes, but there is something about grocery shopping that has always been difficult for me to limit! Something always looks yummy or something is on sale so I buy 20 for storage. Last month was the first month in the past year that I've been under our grocery budget and I know I can do it again!
2) No eating out. Since getting pregnant with Teryn there have been too many days that I either felt I didn't want to cook or realized it was dinner time before I even thought of cooking, so we just get take-out somewhere. One of my New Year's resolutions was to plan our weekly menu in advance so I won't find myself out of ideas at the last minute. It's been so helpful and we've never eaten better! Having our menu planned also contributes to being able to keep our grocery bill within budget. I don't have to buy things "just in case I need it....". We didn't eat out last month, and I plan to avoid it again.
3) Read 2 books. I'm reading a great one right now, but it's lengthy so I hope to finish it in time to read at least one more before the month is over.
We are just now going to start combining accounts and create a budget so hopefully it goes well! I think you should post your weekly menu ;) I think its a great idea but I need new ideas.. and for a small family!

ReplyDeleteThose are awesome goals! I need to set a budget for sure. Pretty much it's pay the bills and what's left over is for food and other neccesities. lol
ReplyDeleteHey Dani, I'm hear reading. I get you missing comments, I don't get very many and then I see how many people have stopped by and I think...Who are these people, they don't say a THANG! I'll do better at commenting for you. I too am trying to stick to our grocery budget, one thing I'm trying is taking cash to the grocery store, that way I can't buy all those extras. Its working for me so far.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place to spend is the grocery store. I should set a budget too :)
