Latest Experiment

This was kinda fun. When my mom remodeled her living room, Tyson and I inherited my grandma Henrie's old couch. I'd guess it's 20-30, maybe even 40 years old? It's solid as a rock and SO comfortable- -not to mention long enough for Tyson to lay on. We love it! But, as you can imagine, 20-40 years takes a toll on anything, especially upholstery. The cushions are pretty ragged and I've had to give the loose threads several "hair cuts" (I will never forget the day Heather came to visit and her boys sat on the couch watching a movie while they *subconsciously* pulled the threads out and flossed their teeth with them! lol! I wish I had pictures!) So, I finally decided I'd play around and recover them. I picked some pillows up at DI and added them to the scene. It didn't turn out too bad. I love the color! Someday when we really settle down and have some money I'll pay to have it covered, but this will do for now. I didn't take any "before" pictures because I knew my camera wouldn't do it justice, but here are the "after" pictures.

It goes very well with our brown and orange carpet, don'tcha think? =0) Sad to say the carpet in our new apartment is hunter green. Oh well.
