Who said?

About 2 months ago while Tyson and I were out driving, chatting about the day our son would get here and what we needed to prepare in the meantime, I was telling him about some of the sewing projects I wanted to try putting together. While we talked and ideas were running through my mind, I imagined a receiving blanket that looked like a giant basketball. I asked Tyson, "who ever said blankets have to be square?" So we stopped by the fabric store and I picked up some material to trial run my idea. I just put it together last night--here it is!

Then, last weekend some sisters in my ward threw a baby shower for me, and my visiting teaching partner gave me the cutest homemade hooded towel! The pattern was simple, so I thought I'd give it a try on a set of baby blue towels we received for our wedding--I'm not a big fan of baby blue so they have been sitting untouched in our closet ever since. (We received 2 other sets of baby blue towels too, but I was able to exchange them. We had to hang on to this set because I couldn't find where they came from to take them back!) Now I'm so happy we hung on to them--this pattern is such a cute idea! The ribbon I found to decorate them with was perfect (and on clearance for $1.00 =0). I made two towels, and I love them!

Thanks to Chan for letting me borrow her sewing machine when mine gave up this week! Now all of my sewing projects are done and the wait for our baby continues......
